Halloween at Disney World
Disney World is known for their fantastic holiday celebrations and Halloween is no different. Children of all ages will find something special to enjoy. The premier event, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, features a safe trick or treat experience. Participants are given a bag when they enter the park to fill as the night goes on. Free candy stations and candy tails are placed at various attractions. A special fireworks display at the end of the celebration highlights prominent Disney villains and vivid Halloween colors.
Popular cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse greet guests in their own special Halloween costumes. Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade showcases characters on extravagantly themed floats. Some well known participants, including Captain Jack Sparrow, are only seen at this time of year. Exciting dance parties offer a sensational mix of popular child friendly tunes. This unique event runs only on select nights and there is an additional fee over your park admission. Tickets sell out fast so purchase them as soon as dates are announced.
For a more personal Halloween experience, consider the Haunted Carriage Ride at Fort Wilderness. This spooky 25 minute ride follows the Sleepy Hollow legend of Ichibod Crane as he faces the headless horseman. Children are welcome to participate in this event. Rides can be booked in advance and run during the entire month of October. Price is based on each carriage which hold up to 4 adults.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios do not hold special Halloween events. Instead, visitors are encouraged to try thrilling rides like Tower of Terror or Mission:Space. Decorations with fun Halloween twists stand out among all of the four parks. Famous characters do meet and greets in special costumes. This practice varies by park. Check with guest relations.
