World Showcase at Epcot
There are two main parts to Epcot in Disney World – Future World, and the World Showcase. While Future World is full of rides and attractions, the World Showcase is a very interesting place to visit, walk around, and get to know other cultures. It can usually be done in about an afternoon, and is a great way to relax, go shopping, and enjoy some delicious food. You may even run into entertainers or performers.
There are eleven countries represented in Epcot’s World Showcase. They include Canada, the UK, France, Morocco, Japan, the USA, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico. Each pavilion is a little different, most of them have at least shops and a place to get some food. Some may just offer a quick service option, while others have a complete sit down restaurant. Some countries, like Norway and France, have a bakery. China, France, and Canada all have movies that you can watch about that country’s history. Norway and Mexico both have rides.
You need an admission ticket to Epcot in order to be able to visit the World Showcase. If you are staying on Disney property parking is included, but if you are not then you have to pay the Epcot parking fee as well. The World Showcase generally opens a bit later than Future World, usually around 11 am. It stays open until the park closes, which is sometime in the evening. If you stay until park closing you can also watch Illuminations, an amazing fireworks show over the lagoon that is at the center of the World Showcase.
