The Great Goofini

Ride The Great Goofini at Disney World
The Barnstormer Featuring the Great Goofini is a fast-paced junior roller coaster located in Fantasyland at the Walt Disney World Resort. Fantasyland is one of several lands located in the Magic Kingdom theme park within Disney World.

The child-friendly coaster has a chain lift hill that pulls the coaster to a maximum height of 30 feet. The coaster then spirals down and reaches a top speed of 25 miles per hour. The ride lasts around a minute.

The coaster, which first opened in October of 1996 in Mickey’s Toontown Fair, was originally themed as an airplane flight that ended up ramming through a barn. At that time the ride was called The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm. In February 2011, the attraction closed along with the rest of Mickey’s Toontown Fair to make way for the Fantasyland Expansion. The ride reopened in its current incarnation in March of 2012 as a part of Storybook Circus, which is one area of the Fantasyland Expansion. The new theme stars the Great Goofini, and the queue shows various failed feats that he has attempted. This ride is yet another one of those attempts as the ride ends up smashing through the billboard that advertises it.

The coaster has a height restriction of 35 inches, and while it packs a little punch that even older riders can enjoy, it is recommended for preschool-aged children. Some children with a fear of coasters may not wish to ride, but it is a great introductory roller coaster for those who dare.
