Walt Disney World’s Soarin’ is a gliding simulation ride located at the Epcot theme park. Lasting approximately 5 minutes, this simulation takes you on a glided tour of California, where you will experience some of the state’s most treasured landmarks, such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Redwood Creek, Napa Valley, Monterey, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Camarillo, Anaza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego, Malibu, and Los Angeles.
Infused with the scents of orange trees, evergreens, and even ocean mists, this simulation makes you feel as if you are truly living the experience, not just simulating it. Taking off with heights over 40 feet, you’ll be soaring through the clouds while experiencing truly glorious sceneries, with the winds and scents that go along with it. Your flight comes to an end with a spectacular presentation of the fireworks offered at the Disney theme parks. Although this is a gentle ride, it is required that the glider be at least 40 inches tall to keep it fun for everyone.
Soarin’ first made its way to Disney’s California Adventure Park in 2001, and made its way to Disney’s Epcot in 2005 due to its vast popularity. With wait times usually estimating greater than an hour, it’s recommended that you take advantage of Disney’s fast pass system, so that your layover to California’s hotspots is easier to manage
