Air Grover

Air Grover at Busch Gardens

The Air Grover is a rollercoaster ride at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Florida. The ride is a sit-down ride with eight cars that hold two people in each of the cars for a total capacity of 16 people. The ride, considered a “junior” coaster, was manufactured by Zierer as a steel construction rollercoaster and is located in the Sesame Street Safari of Fun area of the park. Opened for the public in March of 2010, the coaster is modeled on the Grover character from Sesame Street and has a likeness of his head affixed to the lead car.

The Air Grover is designed for children, but is large enough for an adult to accompany a child too young to ride alone. Children must be at least 42 inches to ride alone or 38 inches if riding with an adult. The maximum height attained by the ride is 24 feet at the top of the lift hill immediately after which it reaches its maximum speed of 26 to 27 mph when dropping 22.5 feet in a 45 degree descent. Following is a 540 degree helical turn, a small hill and 360 degree turn before it ends its 600 foot trip.
